Happy National Life Insurance Day!
National Life Insurance Day is observed annually on May 2nd as it marks the anniversary of the first day life insurance became available in the United States.
You learn something new everyday.
So, we decided to examine life insurance in MotivBase.com to see if there were any interesting shifts in happening in consumer culture.
The first, and biggest revelation was that in 2018, consumers linked things like "Performance" and "Physical Health" with the culture of life insurance.
But one year later, there has been an increased focus on the act of protection and provision. And the theme of physical health has been replaced by the theme of balance.
Another interesting shift is the increased linkage between the culture of life insurance and the culture of HDHP (High Deducible Health Plans).
In 2018, this was a distant relationship.
In 2019 the topic HDHP has increasingly been associated with the culture of life insurance suggesting that Americans are trying to better understand how they can navigate the cost of living as well as how to prioritize health insurance versus life insurance.
And how you shape your coverage is a reflection of who you are as a person.
In 2018, consumers were concerned with appearing informed, intelligent and that they were making smart and informed decisions.
But now, in 2019, consumers are concerned with appearing to have their priorities in order. They need to feel like a good provider and prove devotion to their family.
A lot can change in year.
